VICIS Warranty Policy

VICIS products are covered by limited warranty terms based on product type, purchase date, condition, and proper care. Warranty eligibility is determined after review.

Helmet Warranty Coverage

• All VICIS ZERO2 shells have a lifetime warranty based on the current 10-year football helmet lifespan mandated by NAERA and the helmet’s Initial Season of Play.
• Helmet internal parts are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase.
• Shoulder pads and other non-helmet parts are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase.

Reconditioning Requirements

To honor the shell warranty after the first year of use, helmets must be reconditioned every other year by a NAERA certified reconditioner. Only factory replacement parts should be used to validate the warranty.

Please check with your league for any specific helmet reconditioning requirements.

Although reconditioning is not required to validate the warranty period for youth helmets, VICIS recommends adopting a regular repair and replacement program until the helmet is retired.

Warranty Review and Returns

Helmets covered under warranty should be returned in whole, with all internal components intact, to the dealer from whom they were purchased, along with proof of purchase or evidence of the purchase date. Upon receipt, the helmet will be inspected to determine whether repair or replacement is appropriate.

Performance and Product Changes

Parts or components of the helmet system may only be replaced or changed when following the manufacturer’s guidelines. Alterations, additions, component deletions, or removals may void the warranty and could affect the protective capabilities of the helmet.

Paint Warning

Substances applied to the helmet shell that are not compatible with the shell material may cause deterioration, embrittlement, or breakage, exposing the wearer to unnecessary risk.

Use of non-compatible parts, polishes, cleaners, primer, paint, or thinner may render the helmet shell unsafe for further use and may void warranties. Use only approved primer, paint, thinner, polishes, and cleaners. For proper helmet painting, contact a NAERA Licensed Reconditioner or VICIS customer service.

Failure to follow proper painting and care guidelines can damage shell integrity and void warranties.

Third Party and Aftermarket Products

All VICIS helmets and faceguards are manufactured and certified to meet current NOCSAE performance standards. Alterations, additions, component deletions, or removals made to the helmet or faceguard that do not follow manufacturer guidelines may void the warranty and will void the NOCSAE certification of the helmet and faceguard.

VICIS and Certor Sports recommend against the use of any non-approved third party, aftermarket product, or accessory that alters the fit, form, or function of the helmet or faceguard.

Third party or aftermarket products used on a VICIS helmet that do not follow manufacturer guidelines will void the NOCSAE certification and may make the helmet or face mask illegal to use in most organized football leagues, games, or other activities.

Guardian Cap Approved

VICIS helmets worn in practice or games with a properly installed Guardian Cap remain fully certified and warrantied when used as allowed by applicable league regulations.
