How do I know what size of football helmet to buy?Updated 6 minutes ago
The best performing football helmet is one that fits. For optimal fit, follow the instructions below or watch this fitting help video.

BEFORE PURCHASE
Step 1 - Measure
Proper fit is essential for the most effective performance of any helmet. Measure the player's head as shown, approximately 1" above the brow and around the widest part of the head. This measurement will determine which size helmet should be selected. See the size charts below. Youth helmets cannot be worn at the high school level. If the player is in middle school or younger, then please select a youth helmet. If the player is out of middle school, then please select a varsity helmet.
If you are in between sizes, then size up. For example, someone who needs a varsity helmet and has a 23.5" head circumference should choose the X-Large over the Large.

AFTER PURCHASE
Step 2 - Adjust Stabilzer Pads, DLTA Pods (Optional)
If your helmet is too snug or too loose in some areas, then the Stabilzer Pads (jaw pads) and/or DLTA Pods can be adjusted to fine tune the fit. The jaw pads should be snug against the player's face, flush with their jaw, without pushing too forcefully on the cheeks. This step may not be neccesary if the helmet fits properly out of the box.

Step 3 - Adjust Chin Cup
Instruct the player to hold the chin cup firmly on their chin. While doing so, begin attaching and adjusting the chin strap snaps. Attach the top strap first, ensuring that the strap routes between the helmet shell and the facemask and does not interfere with the jaw pad. Adjust the top strap length so that the slack is removed from the strap. Next, attach and adjust the lower strap so that it routes under (not on the outside of) the shell. The lower strap should be tightened until the helmet is held firmly on the player's head.
Step 4 - Check Fit
To ensure the helmet has been fit properly, try to rotate the helmet while on the player's head by pulling firmly sideways on the facemask. The helmet should not slip, and the player's facial skin should move with the helmet as it rotates. Next, pull firmly upward and downward on the facemask. Again, the head should move with the helmet. If the help slips in any direction on the head, repeat steps 1-3.
